What makes Indian hair so unique?

Indian hair is lustrous and thick, making it more flexible and durable than other hair. Its beautiful texture and naturally dark color works well for hair weaving applications. Indian Hair can be styled to achieve any look you want while the hair maintains its natural beauty and lasts for a very long time. You deserve long lasting beautiful hair, that's why we take our time in selecting the finest 100% virgin remy Indian hair!

Why should I use “virgin Indian hair” when beauty supply store hair is cheaper?

Virgin Indian hair is hair in its most natural form. It looks natural and behaves like your own natural hair. That is why it blends beautifully with your own hair. Also, if you take care of this hair just like your own hair, it lasts for a very long time, sometimes even a year or more. So, if wearing long lasting, natural looking hair is important to you, you must try genuine quality virgin Indian hair from a reputable supplier.

Virgin Indian hair is pricey. But in the long run it is worth the initial investment because it lasts longer than the beauty supply store hair and is a much better value for your money.

Beauty supply store hair, which is of “non-remy”quality is relatively cheaper. However, the hair does not look or behave like your own natural hair. In addition to this, the hair starts tangling, gathering and matting after a few washes. Generally, it cannot be reused after the first installation and one needs to buy fresh packs of hair for every subsequent installation. So, if you use beauty supply store hair, you will save some money initially, but in the long run you will end up spending more. This is one area where you definitely get what you pay for.

I have never used “Virgin Indian Hair” before. What should I know before I decide to use this kind of hair?

The first thing you should know about virgin Indian hair is that it is totally unprocessed 100% natural hair. The hair you purchase will have a natural texture and color.

Texture: The natural texture of Indian hair varies from slightly wavy  to deep curly. Deep curly hair is not very abundant and always short in supply. Slightly wavy to deep wavy hair texture is most abundant in natural virgin Indian hair. If you are looking for bone straight hair or a very specific curl pattern, you may not get exactly that kind of texture off-the-shelf.  Typically virgin Indian hair is sold in three textures (a) Natural Straight (which is actually lightly wavy) (b) Natural Wavy (c) Curly (the curl tightness may vary slightly). However, virgin Indian hair is so versatile that you can very quickly flat iron your hair to get your sleek straight look or curl it to your desired style.

Color: Indian hair comes in natural shades of black and dark brown and everything in between. Virgin Indian hair is never sold by specific “color codes”. Since virgin Indian hair is never colored and it is sold in its natural state, there may be slight variation in color between bundles. However, if this is the case don't get disappointed. This is actually a good thing. Your experienced hair stylist knows how to blend two packs of hair with slight color variation. And when it is blended properly, this actually gives you a more natural look and better depth of color, because in our own head, hair naturally has multiple shades of color and is never of one flat color.

Hair Care: When it comes to virgin Indian hair, you have to care for your extensions just like your own natural hair. You need to brush your hair frequently. You need to shampoo and condition your hair regularly, especially if you use a lot of hair products. Deposits from the hair products, if not washed off on a regular basis, can degrade the quality of the hair (just like your own hair) and combined with the use of heat can affect the smooth natural feeling and behavior of the virgin hair. If you maintain your virgin Indian hair extension properly, you will have sleek, smooth, tangle free beautiful natural looking hair for a very long time and will be able the reuse the hair many times after.

What does "weft" mean?

Usually the type of hair used in weaving hair extensions method is “wefted hair”. Hair “weft” pieces are made by sewing hair together on the root side of the hair and keeping it freely hanging on the tip side, making it look like a hair curtain. Hair wefts are made either by hand (Hand Tied Weft) or by using specialized sewing machines (Machine Weft). Hand-tied wefts are thinner, but have limitations because they cannot be cut without unraveling and falling apart of the hair at the cut ends. Hence, for hand-tied wefts the cut ends need to be sealed by applying glue. On the other hand machine wefts are a bit thicker, but since its stitches are highly reinforced, the weft can be cut at any place without unraveling. Typically, it is stylists who prefer one weft over the other. As far as consumers are concerned, both types of wefts can give them the desired look and result.

Can I cut your weft?

Yes. Our wefts are “machine wefts” and are well reinforced. Hence, our wefts can be cut without any unraveling.

What is the width of a weft?

Since, wefts are sold by weight, how wide a weft is depends on the actual length of the hair – the longer the hair, the shorter the width of the weft. Therefore, in order to cover a larger area of your head you should probably purchase 2 or 3 packs of hair (a 16 inch weft will be approx. 9 feet long).

How much hair should I purchase?

Bonding: 1 pack of hair will be enough for 5-6 layers.

Weaving: for a full sew in weave we generally recommend buying 2 packs hair. Since hair does not expire, it is always better to purchase some extra hair. For hair over 18” of length we recommend purchasing a 3rd pack and save any extra hair for later. The main rule should be:  longer hair equals shorter weft width. Also, take into consideration that the number of packs required also depends on the style and volume you desire. For example if you want a celebrity weave with a lot of volume and layers, you will need 3 to 4 packs of hair.

Can my new hair be colored?

Yes, you can color the hair. Our virgin remy hair of premium quality has never been chemically treated and it can therefore handle the coloring process very well. However, once you color or process virgin hair, it will no longer be virgin. We therefore recommend consulting a professional if you wish to color your new hair.

Which hair care products work best?

As with your own hair, you should use quality shampoo and conditioner. If you want to keep the hair soft and easy to manage, conditioning is important. Use a deep conditioner once a week and try avoiding oily or heavy styling products. If you are using hair spray or gel to maintain the curls, make sure you wash it out often, as those hair products can make your hair appear limp and oily after a while.

How should I treat the hair in the morning?

It is recommended that you comb your hair in the morning. If you brush from the ends towards your scalp, part you will prevent excessive pulling and your extensions will last longer.

How should I treat the hair at night?

Make sure your hair is always completely dry when you go to bed. Sleeping on wet hair can tangle your hair and over time may cause hair odor. As long as you never sleep on wet hair, there is nothing to worry about at night.

Is it safe to go swimming with my extensions?

Yes, but you might want to braid your hair or pull it into a ponytail before you go swimming in order to prevent tangling. Wash the hair afterwards and make sure it is well conditioned. We recommend using a spray-in conditioner when you get out of the water to keep the hair soft and manageable.

How long will my new hair last?

The longevity of our virgin remy Indian hair depends on how well the hair is maintained. Our hair will last for a long time, and – as with your own hair - will be healthier and stronger when you take good care of it. Due to its natural strength and durability, virgin remy Indian hair will last longer than any other product available in the market of hair extensions.
